Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Contentosapp Studio WordPress plugin and the ContentOS services available at contentosapp.com (collectively, the "Service"), provided by ContentOS ("Contentosapp", "we", "us", or "our"). By installing the plugin, creating an account, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Contentosapp Studio is a WordPress plugin that creates articles through a multi-stage editorial pipeline and delivers them to WordPress sites you authorize. The Service may be used with your own supported provider API keys ("BYOK — Bring Your Own Key") or through our managed infrastructure ("ContentOS Auto") under a free allowance or paid subscription plan.

The Service assists with research, drafting, references, review, images, metadata, supported schema, and WordPress delivery. You retain the final decision over what you review, edit, schedule, or publish.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your license key and account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Plans, Licenses, and Billing

3.1 Free and Paid Use

The Service offers BYOK use and managed ContentOS Auto use.

• With BYOK, Contentosapp does not charge a subscription fee for use of the plugin and does not impose an article limit. You are responsible for charges from the provider whose API key you configure.
• ContentOS Auto does not require you to configure a provider API key. Managed usage is subject to the free allowance or monthly quota included with the plan shown at the time of purchase.

Plan details, prices, quotas, connected-site allowances, and available features are shown at the time of purchase and may change with notice.

3.2 Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis through our payment provider, Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled.

3.3 Quotas and Extra Credits

Plans may include a monthly quota of ContentOS Auto productions. Additional credits may be available for purchase. Quota usage is tracked per license. Monthly quotas reset on the applicable billing cycle. The terms shown at purchase apply to any extra credits.

3.4 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and access to paid plan benefits continues until that period ends unless stated otherwise.

Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable. Contentosapp does not offer a general 30-day money-back guarantee. You may manage or cancel your subscription from your account or contact us for support.

3.5 License Activation

Each paid license permits activation on the number of sites allowed by the purchased plan. You may deactivate a site to free an activation for another site, subject to safeguards against abuse.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service to create content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, deceptive, or violates the rights of others;
• generate spam, malware, or content intended to manipulate search systems in violation of applicable platform policies;
• resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service except as expressly permitted;
• attempt to circumvent quotas, licensing, security, or rate limits;
• reverse engineer the Service except to the extent permitted by law;
• use the Service in a way that overloads or harms our infrastructure or third-party providers.

You are responsible for the content you create and publish and for ensuring it complies with applicable laws and the policies of the platforms where you publish it.

5. AI-Assisted Content

The Service uses third-party AI and search providers. You understand and accept that:

• generated content may contain inaccuracies and must be reviewed before publication;
• output is not guaranteed to be unique, factually correct, or free of third-party rights issues;
• sources and unsupported-claim checks reduce risk but do not replace human verification;
• you are responsible for disclosure requirements and platform guidelines applicable to AI-assisted content in your jurisdiction;
• Contentosapp does not guarantee crawling, indexing, ranking, traffic, inclusion in an answer, or citation by any search or answer system.

To the extent permitted by applicable provider terms, content you generate is yours to use. Your use of generated content remains subject to the terms of providers involved in your selected configuration.

6. Your API Keys (BYOK)

If you use BYOK, you are responsible for:

• choosing and configuring a supported provider;
• all charges made by that provider;
• limits and availability of your provider account;
• compliance with the provider's terms and privacy policy;
• protecting your API credentials.

Contentosapp does not charge a subscription fee for BYOK use and does not impose an article limit, but it is not responsible for charges incurred on your provider accounts.

7. Managed Usage and Third-Party Services

ContentOS Auto routes the inputs required for the production through our infrastructure and the providers configured for the Service. The Service also relies on Stripe for payments and on the WordPress sites you connect for content delivery. Availability and processing may depend on these third parties. Your use of third-party services remains subject to their applicable terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including plugin code, design, and documentation, excluding third-party and open-source components and excluding your content, is owned by ContentOS and protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms and your plan. Open-source components are governed by their respective licenses.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We may suspend access for violations of these Terms or when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users, or third parties.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT GENERATED CONTENT WILL ACHIEVE ANY PARTICULAR SEO, RANKING, CITATION, TRAFFIC, OR BUSINESS RESULT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CONTENTOS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR A CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold ContentOS harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, the content you create or publish, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will publish the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date. Where required, material changes will be communicated through additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
