Outrank alternatives compared by approval control, hosted links, autopilot workflow, and cost

6 Outrank Alternatives, Picked by Why You’re Leaving (October 2026 Prices)

Outrank costs $99/month for 30 auto-published articles plus a backlink exchange. Pick an alternative by your reason for leaving, with prices as of Oct 6, 2026.

The six Outrank alternatives compared here are RankYak, BabyLoveGrowth, Arvow, KoalaWriter, SEOWriting.ai and Contentosapp Studio, and the right one depends on why you’re leaving. Outrank’s pricing page says $99 a month buys 30 articles “generated and published on auto-pilot,” plus automated backlink building that runs on a credit-based exchange. People look for an Outrank alternative for four reasons: review control, hosting other members’ links, cancellation and support, and cost per article.

Looking for Outranking (outranking.io)? That is a different tool, a content optimizer. And if you’re leaving a desktop writer instead, see our ZimmWriter alternatives guide.

Here is the method. Outrank is the baseline, and six options are compared against it on the same criteria. The evidence comes from each vendor’s official pricing page, Outrank’s terms of use, one independent review by Ryan Doser, and Google’s spam policies. Prices are list prices checked on October 6, 2026, so check current pricing before you commit.

Vendor statements stay vendor statements. We didn’t test the competing tools, and the only usage data here comes from our own Contentosapp Studio logs. Where a page is silent, the guide says “not stated.” That means the page didn’t say, not that the feature is missing.

One disclosure up front: Contentosapp Studio is made by the publisher of this site. It sits in the comparison under the same criteria as everything else, and its limits are stated plainly. There is no winner, no score and no “best overall” in this guide.

You’ll pick by the reason you’re leaving. That’s the only honest way to choose between tools built on different trade-offs.

Quick summaryThe Essentials: Pick by Reason for Leaving

  • Approve every article: RankYak lists a drafts mode that waits for your approval, and Contentosapp Studio saves each article as a draft by default. Outrank's FAQ also describes drafts, but human fact-checking is a $1,399-a-month add-on.
  • Avoid hosted links: KoalaWriter, SEOWriting.ai and Contentosapp Studio list no exchange on the pages checked. That does not mean they build links for you.
  • Same autopilot, new terms: BabyLoveGrowth, RankYak and Arvow all list a backlink exchange or automatic backlinks, so the mechanism stays.
  • Lower cost per article: SEOWriting.ai (about $0.38) and Arvow (about $0.59 on yearly billing) lead on list prices, and Contentosapp Studio on your own API key ran about $0.20 to $0.49 in the publisher's logs. Outrank works out to about $3.30.
  • Read Outrank's terms: backlink packages publish links with "no manual preview or approval step," and first-time subscribers can request a full refund only within 7 days.
  • Dates: prices are list prices checked October 6, 2026. Vendor claims are not independently verified, so recheck current pricing before you buy.
  • Disclosure: Contentosapp Studio is made by this site's publisher. This guide declares no winner, no scores and no "best overall."

Outrank Alternatives by Reason for Leaving

Start from the complaint, not the tool. Each reason below points to the options whose official pages address it, and each comes with a limit you should know before switching.

If you want to approve every article before it goes live, RankYak documents a drafts mode and Contentosapp Studio saves each article as a draft by default. The limit: RankYak keeps an exchange network, and Studio is WordPress only. Outrank’s own FAQ also describes drafts, so check whether your problem is the setting or the missing human fact-check.

If you’d rather not host other members’ links, KoalaWriter, SEOWriting.ai and Contentosapp Studio list no exchange on the pages checked. The limit: you source your own backlinks, because the same pages don’t list link building either.

If you like the autopilot model and dislike the terms, BabyLoveGrowth, RankYak and Arvow keep the same shape at different prices. If cost per article drives you, the arithmetic favors SEOWriting.ai, Arvow and Contentosapp Studio on your own API key, with caveats covered in the cost table below.

Why People Leave Outrank: Reviews, Complaints and Its Own Terms

Four complaints come up, and they map to different jobs. This section puts Outrank’s own pages and terms next to independent findings, attributed. The independent evidence is a single review: Ryan Doser’s Outrank review, published August 18, 2026 and updated September 30. He discloses that he sells a competing product (an AI SEO System at $199 once), that he isn’t an affiliate, and that he hasn’t run Outrank on a client site for a full campaign.

Review control

Outrank’s homepage FAQ says an article is first saved as a draft in your chosen platform. It also says scheduled articles can be pre-created up to 7 days ahead so you can review and approve them before they auto-publish. Doser’s point is what the $99 plan leaves out: human review and fact-checking sit in the Human Curated Service, a $1,399-a-month add-on, while the plan itself is sold as “generated and published on auto-pilot.”

So you can review Outrank articles, but the review is your job, at up to 30 articles a month. If you want a human checkpoint whichever tool you use, our guide to auto-publishing AI content to WordPress covers where to put it.

Outrank’s pricing page explains the mechanism. Outrank places links to your site in other blogs’ articles, and “You earn the credits that pay for it by hosting a relevant link in your own articles.” Your pages carry other people’s links by design.

Outrank’s terms of use add the detail that matters. Section 7.2 says that when you activate or purchase a backlink package, “our system automatically creates and publishes the agreed-upon links—no manual preview or approval step is provided.” Section 7.3 says that by using backlink building, “you accept that risk and agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any related penalties, losses, or liabilities.” Doser’s review quotes the same sections.

How Outrank's backlink exchange works: your articles host members' links, earning credits that buy links to your site
Per Outrank’s pricing page and terms of use (section 7.2), hosted links publish with no manual preview or approval step.

Cancellation and support

The pricing page says “Cancel anytime. No questions asked!” Doser reports cancellation as the most common complaint: no cancel button in the app and unanswered support emails.

Outrank’s terms cover refunds, not cancellation steps. Section 8.3 says first-time subscribers can request a full refund by emailing support within seven calendar days of the first payment, one refund per customer, and that after that “all sales are final and non-refundable.” For the cancellation steps, check Outrank’s help center before your billing date.

Cost, ratings and what you’d give up

The list price is $99 a month, or $999 a year, which the page calls a $189 saving. Output above 30 articles costs extra: +$85 a month for 60 and +$160 a month for 90. The Human Curated Service, where the page says professional editors review and fact-check every article, is $1,399 a month. Backlink plans run $199, $899 and $1,899 a month, and trial articles carry an Outrank watermark.

Doser reports Outrank’s Trustpilot score at 3.7/5 across 87 reviews as of September 30, 2026, up from 3.4 across 71 on August 18. He notes that Outrank’s llms.txt file tells AI assistants it is “Rated 4.8/5 by users.” We don’t rule on which number is right. Treat both as signals.

Outrank is also broad. It lists WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Framer, Notion, Ghost and a custom webhook, plus articles in 150+ languages. Several alternatives cover less on both counts, and you should weigh that honestly.

Outrank vs. the Alternatives: Comparison Table

What Each Outrank Alternative Costs per Article

Cost per article is the cleanest comparison and the easiest to fool yourself with. Divide list price by included articles and you get the figures below. Every figure is approximate, calculated from list prices checked October 6, 2026. For the wider picture, see our AI content cost per article guide.

Option Plan and list price Included volume Approx. cost per article Billing caveats
Outrank Organic Growth, $99/mo ($999/yr) 30 About $3.30 (about $2.78 annual) 60 or 90 articles cost +$85 or +$160 per month
BabyLoveGrowth Grow, $49/mo ($247/yr) 30 About $1.63 Scale at $199/mo for 120 articles is about $1.66
RankYak Pro, $99/mo ($82.50/mo yearly), per site 30 About $3.30 (about $2.75 yearly) Site Guard add-on is $99/mo
SEOWriting.ai Starter, $19/mo ($14/mo yearly) Up to 50 About $0.38 Ceiling-based; internal and external linking start at Professional
Arvow Solo, $69/mo, or $39/mo billed yearly (limited-time) 1,000 credits at 15 per article About $0.59 yearly (about $1.05 monthly) Upper bound of about 66 articles; AI images and feed-based articles use extra credits
KoalaWriter Starter, $25/mo 45,000 words Depends on length and model Words count 2x or 3x on some models
Contentosapp Studio (managed) ContentOS Auto: Starter $9/mo, Pro $49/mo, Studio $129/mo 5, 30 or 100 About $1.80, $1.63 or $1.29 3 free articles first; annual billing gives 2 months free; publisher’s own product
Contentosapp Studio (own API key) No plugin fee; your AI provider bills usage No Contentosapp limit About $0.20 to $0.49 in model cost (publisher’s logs) Depends mainly on the model; not independent

Read the caveats before you chase the lowest number. List prices exclude add-ons, editing time and taxes. Outrank’s extra volume, the Human Curated Service and its backlink plans all change the real cost. Backlinks are part of what autopilot tools charge for, so a cheap per-article figure may simply mean there’s no link component.

The $0.38 SEOWriting.ai figure assumes you use all 50 articles. “Up to 50” is a ceiling, so your cost rises if you write fewer. KoalaWriter bills by words, with 45,000 words counted on GPT-6 Luna and 2x or 3x counting for other models. As a hypothetical only, 45,000 words at 1,500 words per article is about 30 articles, or roughly $0.83 each on Luna.

The Studio figures are the publisher’s own. On managed plans, the per-article price is the plan price divided by its allowance. On your own key, our logs show roughly $0.20 per article in our 25-article case study, from provider billing with image generation included, and about $0.49 across 24 productions on Claude Sonnet 5.5 at Anthropic’s list price, as broken down in our AI SEO agent guide. The model you choose moves that number most, and neither figure is an independent measurement.

The 6 Outrank Alternatives, One by One

Each tool below gets the same treatment: what it does, who its page says it fits, what’s constrained, and what the page doesn’t say.

Outrank: the baseline

What it does. Outrank publishes 30 articles a month on autopilot, with automated keyword research, AI images and a credit-based backlink exchange, per its pricing page. It’s also the broadest option here on integrations and languages.

Fit and constraints. Its page points to founders and multi-site owners, with 10–20% discounts for 2 to 25 sites. Constraints are the ones covered above: hosting links for credits with no preview, extra cost beyond 30 articles, watermarked trial articles, and human fact-checking only as a $1,399-a-month add-on.

Evidence gaps. Exact cancellation steps aren’t documented on the pages checked, although the terms set a 7-day refund window for first-time subscribers. Nobody has independently confirmed whether drafts are the default on the base plan. Outrank’s case studies on its homepage are the vendor’s own results, so treat them as marketing.

1. BabyLoveGrowth: same autopilot model, lower list price

What it does. On its pricing page, Grow is $49 a month, or $247 billed yearly, for 30 branded AEO/SEO articles. It adds 10 AI prompts tracked in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, a site audit, Reddit and Quora agents, and auto-publishing to WordPress, Shopify and 8 more platforms. Scale is $199 a month, or $599 billed yearly, for 120 articles listed in 4 languages, plus 50 tracked prompts and a dedicated specialist.

Fit and constraints. The page offers a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee, with eligibility terms linked there. It’s an exchange model too. If you already pay for BabyLoveGrowth and dislike the exchange, switching tiers changes price, not the mechanism.

Evidence gaps. Draft or approval mode, partner-link preview and cancellation terms are not stated. The page says content “goes live without you touching it.” Its “$800+/mo in backlinks” figure is the vendor’s own valuation, and its Trustpilot rating and “trusted by” counts are vendor claims.

2. RankYak: the closest like-for-like swap, with a drafts mode

What it does. RankYak’s pricing page lists Pro at $99 a month, or $82.50 a month billed yearly, per website. That covers 30 articles (one a day on days you choose, up to 5,000 words each), keyword research and publishing to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix and WordPress.com, plus Zapier, Make, API, webhooks and RSS.

Fit and constraints. You can choose automatic publishing or drafts, where “every article waits for your review and goes live only after you approve it.” The page also lists an Agency Partner dashboard and a Site Guard add-on at $99 a month. The constraint: backlinks come from an exchange network that opens when the paid subscription starts, so drafts mode alone doesn’t remove the exchange.

Evidence gaps. Refund terms, whether you host other members’ links and whether you can preview them are not stated. The page lists 40+ languages, and the testimonial quotes on it are marketing.

3. Arvow: credit-based plans for multiple sites

What it does. Arvow’s pricing page shows credit-based plans. Solo is $69 a month, or $39 a month billed yearly, with 1,000 credits and one website, and the yearly prices are marked limited-time. The page says “An article costs 15 credits,” and AI images cost 1 credit each, or 5 for premium images. Features include AutoBlog, 150+ languages and a long integration list. A Backlink Exchange is listed, and Automatic Backlinks arrive on Business ($69 a month, 5 websites).

Fit and constraints. The page’s tiers point to multi-site owners and agencies. The limited-time prices need a recheck before you buy, and credits may also fund other features, so the article count is an upper bound.

Evidence gaps. Draft versus auto-publish control, trial and refund terms, and hosted-link preview are not stated. The “Guaranteed 25% increase in traffic in 90 days” line belongs to Arvow’s managed AI SEO Service, which starts at $2,000 a month, not to the self-serve plans.

4. KoalaWriter: word-based pricing, no exchange listed

What it does. Koala’s pricing page prices by words: Starter $25 for 45,000, Professional $49 for 100,000 and Boost $99 for 250,000, counted on GPT-6 Luna. Other models count 2x or 3x. Professional adds an article editor with an SEO score, KoalaLinks internal linking and Deep Research. Boost adds Content Calendar Autopilot, and every paid plan includes an MCP server.

Fit and constraints. The page lists live Amazon data for affiliate articles and one-click publishing to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Ghost, which suits bloggers and affiliate writers. No backlink feature is listed, but that isn’t evidence of absence. For the wider field, see our Koala AI alternatives guide.

Evidence gaps. Languages, refund and cancellation terms, and whether publishing can skip approval are not stated. Only “one-click publishing” is stated.

5. SEOWriting.ai: the lowest list cost per article

What it does. SEOWriting.ai’s pricing page lists Starter at $19 a month billed monthly ($14 billed yearly) for up to 50 articles. That tier includes bulk generation, an AI editor, a content score, real-time SERP data, one brand voice, a WordPress integration and a Shopify app. Higher tiers run to 1,000 articles, and a free tier gives 3 articles with no card.

Fit and constraints. The page calls Starter “Perfect for bloggers and SEO specialists” and Professional “Best for teams and agencies.” Starter’s comparison table doesn’t list internal or external linking, which begin at Professional. That “external linking” means links inside articles, not backlinks to your site.

Evidence gaps. Auto-publish versus drafts, scheduled daily output, languages and refund terms are not stated. Trustpilot, G2 and WordPress.org ratings on the page are the vendor’s presentation of third-party signals.

6. Contentosapp Studio: draft control inside WordPress (our product)

What it does. Per its WordPress.org listing, Studio is a WordPress plugin that runs a seven-agent pipeline (Discoverer, Strategist, Researcher, Writer, Editorial Reviewer, Visual Designer, Social Media). Each article goes out as a draft (the default), a scheduled post or a published post, your choice per article. It runs free with no Contentosapp article limit on your own Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic key, billed by the provider with no plugin markup. Our BYOK AI writer explainer covers the key setup.

Contentosapp Studio production form in WordPress with the publish mode set to Draft, plus Scheduled and Published options
In Studio, each production goes out as a draft unless you choose Scheduled or Published.

Pricing. If you’d rather not manage a key, the managed ContentOS Auto service listed on contentosapp.com starts with 3 free articles and no card. After that, Starter is $9 a month for 5 articles, Pro is $49 for 30 and Studio is $129 for 100, with deeper research and more images per article on the higher plans. Annual billing gives 2 months free, and nothing is charged automatically after the free articles.

Fit and constraints. The documented fit is a WordPress publisher who wants to review every draft. The limits are plain: no backlink building (the publisher’s own statement), three languages (English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese), and WordPress only. If you run Shopify or Webflow, it doesn’t fit. For what an autopilot agent does and where a human should sign off, see our AI SEO agent guide, and the official site for current details.

Evidence gaps. Refund terms aren’t stated on the pricing page, and no independent review of Studio is cited here. The cost-per-article figures come from the publisher’s own logs, not an outside test.

Only four of the seven items list an exchange or automatic backlinks: Outrank, BabyLoveGrowth, RankYak and Arvow. This is the mechanism-by-mechanism view most comparisons skip.

Tool What the official page says Hosting and preview
Outrank Credits are earned by hosting a relevant link in your own articles Terms of use, section 7.2: links are created and published with “no manual preview or approval step”
BabyLoveGrowth “Contextual links from 4,000+ same-industry sites” Not stated
RankYak Exchange network opens when the paid subscription starts Not stated
Arvow Lists a Backlink Exchange; Automatic Backlinks on Business Not stated

Google’s spam policies define link spam as “the practice of creating links to or from a site primarily for the purpose of manipulating search rankings.” Two of its examples are worth reading against that table: “Excessive link exchanges (‘Link to me and I’ll link to you’) or partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking” and “Using automated programs or services to create links to your site.”

We aren’t saying any tool here violates those policies, and we aren’t saying any site was penalized. The page speaks generally and names no tool. Read the examples, read the mechanism, and judge the risk for your own site.

Google also lists scaled content abuse, “using generative AI tools or other similar tools to generate many pages without adding value for users.” That’s why article quality matters as much as link source. Our piece on whether Google penalizes AI content covers that side.

Strengths and Limitations

Outrank’s strength is breadth. One plan covers keyword research, daily publishing, images, backlinks, eight listed CMS options and 150+ languages. Its limits are the ones people leave over: hosted links with no preview, review that’s left to you, add-on costs and a 7-day refund window.

BabyLoveGrowth and Arvow trade lower list prices for the same exchange model. BabyLoveGrowth’s 90-day money-back guarantee is the longest refund window on the pages checked, though eligibility terms sit on a separate page. Arvow’s limited-time prices and credit mechanics make its real cost harder to pin down.

RankYak is the closest like-for-like swap on price and volume, with a documented approval option and a long CMS list. It keeps the exchange network and prices per site. KoalaWriter suits word-based, blogger-style workflows and lists no exchange, but its word multipliers make per-article cost hard to predict.

SEOWriting.ai has the lowest list cost per article, with a ceiling-based caveat and thinner documentation on publishing control. Contentosapp Studio gives you per-article draft control and a choice between provider-billed usage and managed plans from $9 a month, at the price of WordPress-only support, three languages and no link building.

None of these trade-offs is free. You’re choosing which compromise you can live with.

What None of These Pages Tell You

Some needs aren’t clearly solved by any option here, and some facts aren’t public. This is the list of what the pages do not say.

  • Outrank’s cancellation steps. Its terms cover refunds, not how to cancel.
  • Draft and approval controls for BabyLoveGrowth, Arvow, KoalaWriter and SEOWriting.ai.
  • Languages for KoalaWriter and SEOWriting.ai.
  • Whether you can preview links before hosting them, for BabyLoveGrowth, RankYak and Arvow.
  • Fact-checking depth for most tools.
  • Independent link-quality audits of any exchange.
  • A single tool that combines per-article approval, multi-CMS support and a backlink exchange where you preview links before hosting them.

That last gap is the real finding. If you want all three, no page checked says any tool does it.

Which Outrank Alternative Fits Your Use Case

Each line states the criterion and the evidence. None is a universal winner, and “best for” means only what’s written beside it.

  • Approval before every publish: RankYak (drafts mode, per its pricing page) and Contentosapp Studio (draft by default, or scheduled or published per article).
  • No hosted links: KoalaWriter, SEOWriting.ai and Contentosapp Studio, since their pages list no exchange. That isn’t proof they’re risk-free, and you source links yourself.
  • Same autopilot on different terms: BabyLoveGrowth, RankYak or Arvow. All keep a backlink exchange.
  • Lower cost per article: SEOWriting.ai and Arvow on list prices, or Contentosapp Studio on your own API key, with the caveats above. BabyLoveGrowth Grow and Studio’s managed Pro plan both work out to about $1.63, half of Outrank’s figure.
  • Multi-CMS (Shopify or Webflow): check the integration lists in the matrix. Contentosapp Studio is WordPress only.
  • Multiple languages: Outrank and Arvow list 150+, and RankYak lists 40+. BabyLoveGrowth’s page lists both 50+ and 4, and Contentosapp Studio covers 3.

How to Switch From Outrank Without Putting Rankings at Risk

None of the sources covers migration or ranking retention, so this is general editorial guidance. It promises no outcome. Rankings depend on your content, your links and your competition.

  1. Keep existing URLs live. Don’t delete or unpublish articles because you changed tools.
  2. Audit which hosted links sit inside your articles before you change anything.
  3. Move to draft mode, or pause scheduled posts, first.
  4. Check Outrank’s help center for cancellation steps, since the pages checked don’t document them. If you’re within 7 days of your first payment, the terms allow a refund request by email. Doser’s complaint is a reason to start early.
  5. Spot-check a sample of articles for facts, thin sections and generic filler before the next tool publishes anything. Think E-E-A-T and helpful content, not word count.
  6. Run the new tool in drafts for a few weeks, and keep a record of what you approve.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best Outrank alternative?

It depends on why you’re leaving. For approval before publishing, RankYak and Contentosapp Studio offer a drafts option. For no hosted links, KoalaWriter, SEOWriting.ai and Contentosapp Studio list no exchange. For the same autopilot, BabyLoveGrowth, RankYak and Arvow are the options. For a lower cost per article, SEOWriting.ai and Arvow lead on list prices. No single tool in this set covers every reason.

Is Outrank worth $99 a month?

The plan includes 30 articles, keyword research, AI images, automated backlinks and 150+ languages per its pricing page. That’s about $3.30 per article before add-ons. Whether it’s worth it depends on how much you value autopilot and the hosted-link credit model, and whether you need extra volume or the $1,399 curated service. If you try it, note that its terms allow a refund only within 7 days of a first subscription.

Is Outrank.so legit?

Outrank is a real company, Outrank SAS in Paris, with public pricing and terms of use. Reviews are mixed: Ryan Doser reports a Trustpilot rating of 3.7 out of 5 across 87 reviews as of September 30, 2026, and says billing and cancellation are the most common complaints. Outrank’s own llms.txt file tells AI assistants it is “Rated 4.8/5 by users.”

We can’t call it safe or unsafe. Outrank’s pricing page says you earn credits by hosting links, and its terms of use say backlink packages publish links with “no manual preview or approval step” and that you accept the risk of search penalties. Google’s spam policies list “excessive link exchanges” and “using automated programs or services to create links to your site” as link spam examples. We don’t say any tool violates them. Weigh the mechanism against your own risk tolerance.

Can I review Outrank articles before they publish?

Yes, according to Outrank’s FAQ: articles are first saved as drafts in your platform, and scheduled articles can be pre-created up to 7 days ahead for review and approval. What the $99 plan doesn’t include is human fact-checking, which sits in the $1,399-a-month Human Curated Service, so the review is yours to do. Test the setting in a trial before you rely on it.

How do I cancel Outrank?

The pricing page says “Cancel anytime. No questions asked!” Ryan Doser’s review reports no cancel button in the app and unanswered support emails. Outrank’s terms let first-time subscribers request a full refund by email within 7 days of the first payment; after that, sales are final. Check Outrank’s help center for the steps and start before your renewal date.

Is Outrank the same as Outranking?

No. Outrank (outrank.so, Outrank SAS in Paris) is an autopilot article and backlink service. Outranking at outranking.io is a content optimizer, a different tool.

What is a cheaper alternative to Outrank?

On list prices, SEOWriting.ai (about $0.38 per article, “up to 50”) and Arvow (about $0.59 on yearly billing) come out lowest, against about $3.30 for Outrank. BabyLoveGrowth Grow and Contentosapp Studio’s managed Pro plan both work out to about $1.63, and Studio on your own API key ran about $0.20 to $0.49 in model cost in the publisher’s logs. Cheaper may also mean no backlink component, so compare what’s included.

What are BabyLoveGrowth alternatives?

RankYak and Arvow keep a backlink exchange, as BabyLoveGrowth does. KoalaWriter, SEOWriting.ai and Contentosapp Studio list none on the pages checked, so you’d source links yourself.

Conclusion

Write down your reason for leaving. Then pick the matrix row that addresses it, recheck current prices, and trial the tool in draft mode. Audit a sample of articles before you let anything publish at scale.

Which reason is yours: control, links, cancellation or cost? If you can’t answer in one sentence, you aren’t ready to switch yet, and the next tool will disappoint you for the same reason.
